Webconference by Andreas Teske, researcher at the Institute for Advanced Studies in Delmenhorst, Germany, and Professor of Marine Microbiology, Department of Marine Sciences, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, as part of the series of conferences organized with the support of the European Netias network on the theme of Borders.

I will provide my perspective and experiences as participant, organizer and chief scientist during multiple deep-sea submersible expeditions in the Gulf of California (Mexico), emphasizing the international cooperation among ship operators, cruise participants and host country that provide the basis for scientific outcomes from these complex and adventurous endeavors. While borders figure as logistical barriers, they also regulate access and provide protection for unique marine habitats.

No registration needed.
