Silent voices

Katrin Ahlgren, Associate Professor of language education at Stockholm University and 2024-2025 research-fellow at the Paris IAS (Riksbankens Jubileumsfund Chair), participates in a theatrical performance as part of the event Les Ateliers d’imaginaire: From reality to fiction – writing, acting and directing on stage at La Cité Théâtre in Caen.

Presentation

This workshop, led by playwright Alexandra Badea, aim to transmit the tools for creating an authentic and organic dramaturgical device. The essential elements of dramaturgy will be explored: structure, address, conflict, writing device, and the evolution of the narrative and character. Each participant will write a scene or monologue, including an on-stage exploration using improvisation techniques. The dramaturgy of the text on stage, as well as its language, rhythm, and musicality, will be explored. Work on actor direction will also be explored in depth. On Friday, March 28, the theater will be open to the public and participants will perform their work on stage.
