Presentation

Abrupt innovations in information technology, from the printing press to the internet, can be followed by disruption of established institutions governing knowledge dissemination. While such innovations may “democratize” information, they can also foster misinformation and social disruption. This project considers challenges to expertise in the new information ecosystem in light of previous upheavals, focusing on democratically governed schooling as a target of, and remedy for, misinformation.
