Presentation

This project identifies three of the main ways in which AI has been conceptualized within the discipline of philosophy and endeavors to develop a new model for grasping its social significance. In this way, it engages what might be called Turing’s “other test”—not the imitation game announced in “Computer Machinery and Intelligence,” but the idea that the advent of machine learning forces humanity to interrogate itself from the standpoint of that which exceeds its capacity for reason.
