The Port of Leixões will host a new edition of PORTO MARITIME WEEK, which will take place from 21 to 25 September at the Infante D. Henrique Auditorium. Organised by Transportes & Negócios, this five-day event brings together representatives from various sectors of the national and international maritime and port industry.
For its 7th edition, PORTO MARITIME WEEK offers a programme focusing on some of the key themes shaping the present and future of maritime and port activity, with sessions on national ports by 2035, the challenges facing port communities, the European and national context, maritime law, digitalisation and decarbonisation, the shipbuilding industry, and the relationship between the port and the city.
Programme
Carola Hein, Professor of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning at Delft University of Technology and 2026-2027 fellow at the Paris IAS, Chair of the City of Paris, will speak on two occasions on 24 September as part of the session dedicated to port-city relations:
- Session 1 - 9.30 am-11.00 am: "Port cityscape and Port city culture: A new mindset"
Talk by Carola Hein (Delft University of Technology, Paris IAS, City of Paris Chair) - Session 2 - 11.15 am-1.00 pm: "The public value of Ports: Building the Port-City culture"
Round table with Carola Hein (TU Delft, Paris IAS, City of Paris Chair), José Sánchez (AIVP), Luís de Carvalho (Port of Copenhagen), Simone Maraschi (Port of Hamburg, online) and João Neves (APDL), moderated by Manuel Caldeira (TRENMO).
