Caroline zum Kolk is a historian specialising in the French court in modern times. She worked at the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme, then, from 2008 to 2013, at the Centre de recherche du château de Versailles, where she conducted research projects such as "Curia" and "Voyageurs étrangers à la cour de France". Since 2007, she is the head of Cour de France.fr, an interdisciplinary project dedicated to research on the French court, from the Middle Ages to the nineteenth century.
Caroline zum Kolk joined the Institut d'études avancées in 2014. She is involved in the implementation of the scientific policy of the institute and is responsible for scientific valorisation. She organizes lecture series and debates, and is coordinating a study project on the Hôtel de Lauzun. She is also the Institute's Data Protection Act/GDPR Officer.
