Presentation

The role of technology in education has long been plagued by technocentrism, the idea that education will somehow be improved by the addition of technology.
In this talk, I provide an alternative framing to ‘edtech’ solutionism, where technology is not seen as neutral but instead is positioned as complex intervention, where social theories of learning and participatory methodologies enable inclusive educational practices.
This framing will be examined through the lens of a new digital humanities collaboration between the University of Oxford, Université Paris Cité and l'IEA de Paris.
