Presentation and program

The Blue Limassol Forum is an annual event, established in 2020 and jointly
organized by Limassol Municipality and Frederick University's Department of
Maritime Transport and Commerce. The Blue Limassol Forum aims to address key issues and initiatives related to the Blue Economy and Coastal Sustainability, leveraging Limassol's unique position as a leading commercial and shipping centre and a major coastal city in the Southeast Mediterranean, and raise maritime and environmental
awareness among local residents. The fifth edition of the Blue Limassol Forum will be organized in three phases.

Thursday, 15 May, 9.30am - 3pm: Round Table Discussion - Targeting Green Port and City Integration
The Round Table Discussion will be held as a parallel activity to the Blue Limassol Forum 2025 with the aim to connect academics, industry stakeholders, governmental bodies and key research institutions from Cyprus and abroad to foster fruitful discussions on fostering inclusivity in Limassol's transformation. Closed to the public.

Thursday, 15 May, 5pm - 8pm: Conferences - Ongoing Limassol Coastal Transformation: How can we establish an inclusive approach?
The speakers and participants at this year's Forum will explore ways to establish an inclusive approach for the ongoing coastal transformation in Limassol, focusing on community involvement and sustainability. The challenge for coastal cities is balancing urban development with environmental sustainability, ensuring that growth benefits all citizens. This includes ensuring citizen inclusivity, where local communities actively
participate in decision-making processes related to the development of their city.
Presentations and discussion will be in English with simultaneous translation into Greek.

Friday, 16 May, 9.30am - 6.30pm: Workshop - Core Management Committee Meeting. "Port City Territories in Action: A collaborative Laboratory for Inclusive Energy Transition"
Closed to the public.
