Talk by Mathilde Cohen, Professor of Law at the University of Connecticut and 2024-2025 research-fellow at the Paris IAS (FIAS program), about L’alimentation pénitentiaire entre punition et émancipation ("Food in prison between punishment and emancipation") as part of the Tenth International Conference on Food and Drink Studies organized by the European Institute for the History and Culture of Food (IEHCA) at the Villa Rabelais in Tours from June 11 to 13.

Presentation

The European Institute for the History and Culture of Foods (IEHCA – University of Tours) is the most important Food Studies research network in Europe. With more than 400 scholars involved in our programs – scholarly meetings, summer schools, international conferences, publications, disseminating scientific knowledge, preservation and valorisation of food heritage – the IEHCA proposes itself to be a major actor in promoting the knowledge of and public debate about good food for everybody, a subject of foremost concern for all.
