The Paris Institute for Advanced Study is hosting a meeting between Carola Hein, Professor of the History of Architecture and Urban Planning at Delft University of Technology and 2026-2027 Fellow at the Institute (City of Paris Chair), and representatives of the Entente Axe Seine.

Carola Hein will present her work on the mixed uses of the Seine: the coexistence of port, industrial, residential, recreational and environmental functions along the river, and the associated governance challenges. This presentation will be followed by an initial discussion with the local authorities that are members of the Entente, with a view to identifying avenues for collaboration between research and public policy.

• Laurent Sodini, Deputy Chief of Staff to Nicolas Mayer-Rossignol, President of the Rouen Normandy Metropolis, who will chair the Entente in 2027–2028
• Florence Louette, Director of Partnerships at the Greater Paris Metropolis,
• Baptiste Dossé, Project Officer at the General Directorate of the Le Havre Seine Métropole Urban Community,
• Julie Roussel, Head of the Adaptation, Resilience, Seine and Urban Water Division at the Directorate for Ecological Transition and Climate, City of Paris (subject to confirmation).

The Entente Axe Seine brings together local authorities situated along the Seine, from Paris to Le Havre via Rouen, to coordinate their actions in the areas of urban planning, economic development, ecological transition and river management.
