Talk by Susan Clayton, social psychologist and 2021-2022 Paris IAS Research Fellow, as part of the monthly meeting of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women (NGOCSW)

Although the evidence highlighting the possible linkage between climate and the COVID-19 is still under investigation, the effect of both phenomena on mental health is abundantly clear. Stress, fear, guilt, isolation, a sense of hopelessness, anxiety, aggression, and depression are just some of the conditions that have been associated with both issues. Women of all ages and children are included among the most vulnerable groups and stand the greatest risk of experiencing these and other mental health challenges emerging during this critical period.
