Simon Luck holds a PhD in political science from Université Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne. A specialist in the sociology of political participation, he conducted research on left-wing radical activism in contemporary France. He also worked on the relations between social movements and political parties. He taught political science at Université Paris 1 and Université François Rabelais de Tours, before working at Université de Créteil where he was in charge of coordinating the work of the Scientific council and implementing the University’s scientific policy.
At the Paris IAS, he is in charge of the implementation of the scientific strategy, the planning of the yearly scientific activities and the supervision of the calls for applications and the selection process of the future fellows. He also acts as a liaison and spokesperson with the scientific partners of the Institute.
