Presentation

In the first two decades of the 21st century, the main cities in the state of São Paulo saw a surge in real estate production. Most of this production was concentrated on residential projects, financed by Caixa Econômica Federal. Much of the debt owed by borrowers in these programs was packaged in the form of financial bonds. In addition to housing, logistics warehouses financed by real estate investment funds have proliferated along the state's main highways. This book seeks to analyze the advancing frontiers of the financialization of real estate through portfolios of financial assets and the overproduction of housing, which at the same time runs up against local limits and conflicts.
