Presentation

Guilherme Lassance, full professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Urban Planning at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and 2026-2027 fellow at the Paris IAS will speak as part of the "Form, Type, Place" seminar, coordinated by Paolo Amaldi at ENSA Paris-Val de Seine. His talk is entitled "Brasília, the post-compact city".

This Master’s seminar introduces students to architectural research. It explores the concepts of type and archetype, and examines how a territory’s identity, topography and climate influence ways of living and building. It also examines the evolution of the concept of infrastructure, which is no longer necessarily associated with the idea of a large-scale structure.
